“Linda Means to Wait” When Seth, a Jewish American man, tells his girlfriend Linda, a South African Zulu woman, that he wants to meet her family, she decides to tell him the story of her upbringing, being sure to include the variety of cultural and family traditions so he knows what he’s in for. The story transports us from South Africa to Chicago as her family claims their Zulu heritage within academic America.
